Here is the rubric for Writing Task 2

The IELTS Writing Task 2 is evaluated based on four criteria, each weighted equally. Here’s an overview of the rubric:

1. Task Response:

2. Coherence and Cohesion:

   • Use cohesive devices (linking words and phrases) to connect ideas and paragraphs.

   • Ensure clarity in the flow of ideas, making it easy for the reader to follow your argument.

3. Lexical Resource:

   • Use a range of vocabulary appropriately.

   • Demonstrate precision in word choice and avoid repetition.

   • Use synonyms and paraphrase effectively.

   • Ensure correct spelling and word formation.

4. Grammatical Range and Accuracy:

   • Use a variety of grammatical structures, including both simple and complex sentences.

   • Maintain accuracy in grammar and punctuation throughout.

   • Avoid errors that may hinder understanding.

   • Show control over tenses and sentence structures.

To achieve a high score, focus on developing a clear argument, organizing your ideas logically, and using a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.
